One of the distinguishing characteristics that I bring to the process is a broad range of experience in all areas of the law. During my career, I have drafted business documents and handled litigation; done both plaintiff's and defense personal injury cases; represented both corporations and individuals and practiced both civil and criminal law including substantial family cases.
Most of my practice now is criminal and family matters. I do the bulk of my work for people who find themselves in the most disruptive periods of their lives. No one comes into these matters willingly, and they want guidance and counsel as they go through the process. One of the major benefits I can bring is a keen awareness of the steps in the process and the likely outcomes. I know the system, the applicable laws and the judges before whom I practice.
If you have to try a case, you want to have an attorney with substantial trial experience. I am in court on a family or criminal matter every week, usually on multiple days. I don't avoid trial work. I enjoy it. If your case has to be litigated, then it should be tried by an experienced attorney. It's important to have that background to help you decide whether or not a trial or settlement is in your best interest. My job is to represent the clients to the best of my ability and help them to make the right decisions for their cases.
Every one of my clients deals directly with me and my assistant. You won't get passed to another attorney. That relationship is important to us, and you need to believe that you have turned your problems over to the right law firm.
